Are there songs which are made in Singapore? What is Xinyao and what are some classic songs from that era?

Join us on this journey into the heart of Singaporean music and the captivating world of Xinyao Music! Parents and children will revisit and rediscover the nostalgic charms of Xinyao melodies, listen to classic songs from this iconic era, all while savouring the beauty of Mandarin lyrics and phrasing unique to Xinyao compositions!

Parents and children will also learn more about the evolution of Mandarin music during the guided tour and the history of Xinyao in the workshop. Through learning simple chords, participants get to experience firsthand playing a Xinyao song on the Kalimba.

Embarking on this musical adventure will deepen your appreciation for Xinyao, fostering a profound connection between parents and children through shared melodies and cherished memories. So, book your slot now!

Language (Conducted in EN/CN/Bilingual): Bilingual
(Songs will be English or Mandarin songs, to cater to the participants’ command of the Mandarin language. Final song will be a mandarin Xinyao song.)

Duration: 2 hours (120 mins – 60 mins tour, 60 mins workshop)

Price
For every parent-child pair (child is 5-6 years old, or older):
$60 nett per parent-child pair
Min 8 pairs and Max 10 pairs

Advisory: No admission for infants in arms and children below 5 years old. Children 5 – 12 years and above must purchase ticket for entry. Admission is subject to tickets produced at the entrance. Cameras with flash, video recording and audio recording are allowed. You can take photographs and/or videos during this event.
